Kardashians vs Founder's Day

Kardashian’s vs Founder’s Day

It’s hard to think that sororities have been around for 100’s of years. That’s two different centuries. Many different generations. Many different changes. But still, the same sorority. Same letters. Same values. Each chapter and sorority has changed for the better. But at the end of the day each sorority has their own roots, and that’s pretty cool. It’s crazy to think that a sorority was founded some 100 years ago by a few very bright women and left quite the legacy. That’s something that should be recognized. Thus bringing us to… Founder’s Day.

Founder’s day is celebrated differently by each sorority. Different days of the year and obviously different founders. But it is a great reminder for each individual of why they pledged and became a member. While the Kardashian’s and their fame might not have been around for as long as sororities have been, most sorority girls find them pretty relatable. Although they might be the standard’s chair worst nightmare at times, they know how to have a good time, even if it might be a little different than what their founder’s had in mind. Okay…maybe a lot different.

Current members sometimes find the way their chapter’s celebrate Founder’s Day on the boring side, and would prefer to spice things up with some good ole fashion fun. The Kardashian’s also might be the most well-known, sassiest, crazies representation of a sisterhood there is. And of course nobody knows fun quite like the Kardashian’s do.

Instead of performing boring rituals dressed in white

They’d rather

Instead of being on their best behavior for alumni and threatened otherwise by Standard’s

They’d rather

Instead of singing their traditional sorority songs from the 19th century

They’d rather

Instead of eating dainty foods and hors d’Oeuvres

They’d rather

Instead of drinking punch and sparkling lemonade

They’d rather

Instead of taking a chunk out of their day for sorority stuff

They’d rather

Instead of being talked to about how important this day is

They’d rather

Instead of being lectured about their founding principles

They’d rather

Who knows what a sorority would be like if the Kardashian’s were the founders? Gucci bags for bid day, Louis Vuitton for initiation. It would probably be in their by-laws “one should not be seen in letters without contouring their makeup and having a spray tan.” Maybe they’d have hair and makeup artists for everyone at formal. There could even be a spinoff, Kim and Kourtney take Sorority World. I bet they’d need a microphone for their chapter meetings. Their founder’s days would be the best, Kris seems to know how to throw a good party. I even bet Kanye would be willing to perform. #RushYeezy

So maybe the Kardashian’s are not exactly what the founder’s of each chapter had in mind, or maybe they were cool as heck and appreciate their bluntness. The Kardashian’s themselves might as well have their own chapter, who knows Kris could be the President and Kim could be the social chair. We all secretly know that Khloe would be the one to actually keep everything running. Jokes aside, the Kardashian’s clearly bicker just like all college girls do with their friends. But just like the Kardashian sisters, they are always there for each other just like sorority sisters are too. If it’s one thing sororities can take away from them it’s that even when your sister gets married for 72 days you’re still there to wipe away the tears and find her a Kanye.

A day filled with sisters spent reconnecting, is good for the soul. When we actually sit down with one another and think about how our friendship might not have been possible without the founder’s of each sorority it really puts the dedication, and how far each chapter has come into perspective. The values and morals that the founder’s wanted are still the same ones that are upheld today, and a gentle reminder of that never hurts.  This day lets members realize that through the required rituals, workshops, and chapters there is nothing that can compare to the sisterhood that a sorority brings. Just like there is no more joy than turning on the TV on a Sunday night to watch the funniest and most famous sisterhood of all, the Kardashian’s.
