Kristen Chenoweth

We know Kristin as Glinda the Good Which in the Broadway show Wicked. Don’t listen to “popular” or you’ll have it stuck in your head the entire day. She is a Broadway star as well as a guest star in many different movies and television series. Kristin is from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma City University which is where she pledged Gamma Phi Beta sorority. I always had a hunch that K-Chen was a sorority gal.

When Kristen was only 12 years old she performed solo at a national conference for the Southern Baptist Convention. She sang the Evie song, “Four Feet Eleven.” Funny story…. Kristin is only 4 feet 11.

Kristin received a bachelor’s degree in Musical Theater from Oklahoma City University. While Kristin attended Oklahoma City University she pledged Gamma Phi Beta. I’m not one to assume things but I think it’s pretty safe to say that Kristin is so successful because of her time in the sorority. All of us girls would have been besties with her because of our sorority connections.

While Kristin was in college getting her master degree, she was in different theaters as well as competing in vocal competitions. She was named “most promising up-and-coming singer.” She received a scholarship for her award but turned it down after she got the role of Arabella Rittenhouse in the production Animal Crackers in New York. She decided to stay in New York and pursue a career in musical theater.

Kristin won a Tony award for her role in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”  She also won an Emmy award for her role in Pushing Daisies. She has won other awards including but not limited to Drama Desk Awards, Outer Critics Circle Award, and Theater World Awards as well as being nominated for many more.

Kristin is a #GirlBoss in our sorority girl eyes. She has made a successful life for herself which is what all of us girls hope to do one day as well. We love you Kristin!!
