How to Avoid Putting the PRO in Procrastinate

College is hard. Life is hard. You know it. I know it. We alllll know it. Sometimes it’s tough to get your head in the game and conquer your to-do list.

Sometimes we think that procrastination is a good thing because it seems to get them creative juices flowin. When you’re trying to come up with ways to avoid writing a paper, you come up with all sorts of fun things to do! Go for a run… or an ice cream run. Google pictures of chubby babies! Or chubby dogs! Clean your room! Work on your Insta game!

The opportunities are endless.

BUT when it comes time to crack down and get everything done… we made a list to help you make the most of your time AND get yo’ ish together.

1. Buy a planner!!

Physically writing out your to-do list and filling out a calendar with due-dates is a great way to visualize and remember all of the commitments that life throws your way. Go get some fancy colored pens and color-code your way to success and plan ahead for upcoming tests and events.

Being able to cross something off of your to-do list after you’ve finished something is probably one of the most satisfying things in the world (second to a pizza party... or a pile of puppies).

2. Break Up Your Workload

Some people like to finish their projects in one sitting, but if you’re a normal human, you get real bored... real quick. Breaking up one large project into smaller chunks is more realistic and helps you feel like you’re making progress! Cause you are!

3. Time Management

Life gets busy in college, and time is usually not on our side. Make notes ahead of time for when something is due, when your next function is, when you’re making a trip back home, and when your next test is so you can plan accordingly.

Beat the stress of procrastination and prioritize your work so you aren’t left doing assignments thirty minutes before they’re due. Cause then you'll have some extra time to take a nap.

Who doesn't love naps?!

4. Hide Yo Phone

You’ve heard it a million times. “Turn your phone off to limit distractions!”

Easier said than done, amirite?!?

The best way to combat this problem is to hide your phone. Literally. When your crush likes your insta pic, you’ll see it light up on your home screen and its pretty much game over for your study plan there on out.

Put your phone underneath a pillow, in a drawer... pretty much anywhere that’s outta sight and outta mind. Trust us, it works.

Or maybe smash it with a hammer... just an idea... jk

5. Find What Works For YOU

You know what you’re capable of! Set realistic goals and expectations at the beginning of every week so you don’t set yourself up for disappointment. Whether you’re shooting for a 4.0 or just to wake up in time for class Monday morning, always shoot for your personal best and you will be proud of your end result!

College is hard... but you're killin it! Give yo'self a pat on the back. Then go study for that test.
